New Wine,New wineskin

... Read moreReflecting on the passage "No one puts new wine into old wineskins," I've come to realize how deeply applicable this teaching is to everyday life and personal growth. This biblical metaphor highlights the necessity of releasing old ways, habits, and attachments to fully embrace the fresh opportunities and changes God wants to bring. In my own experience, holding on to past grievances or outdated routines often feels like trying to fit new experiences into containers that are no longer flexible. This leads to discomfort, frustration, and sometimes emotional or spiritual breakdowns. However, when I consciously created space by letting go—whether it was forgiving someone who hurt me or breaking a habit that no longer served me—I found a sense of freedom and room to grow. Change can be challenging because it calls for us to step into the unknown and relinquish control over what feels safe or familiar. Yet, the metaphor reminds us that new wineskins, or new ways of being, are essential for containing the new wine, symbolizing fresh blessings, insights, or phases in life. It's about readiness and willingness to be renewed. I've also observed that new relationships and environments often come after we release attachments to those that stifle growth or no longer enrich our lives. In this process, faith plays a vital role—trusting that God is preparing something better and that letting go is not loss but preparation for receiving. From a spiritual perspective, this passage encourages us to evaluate what old wineskins might be limiting our potential—be it past hurts, toxic relationships, or limiting beliefs—and to embrace God’s transformative power to renew us internally. This transformation allows for vibrant new expressions of faith, joy, and purpose to flow freely, much like fresh wine requires new skins that can stretch and contain it. Ultimately, this teaching invites us into a journey of continual renewal where holding on and letting go work hand in hand. By making space and welcoming change, we open ourselves to the abundant and healing work God desires to do within us.

Faith: When God tests you, let’s talk about it
He’s going to test you. And you bet the enemy has the right to test you. in Job 1:8 the Lord allows the enemy to consider job as someone who can withstand testing. Meaning, you’re going to get tested. We’re all getting tested. Our faith is consistently getting tested. Maybe not in the same
