This easy pasta dough recipe creates a perfect base for various types of pasta, whether it's spaghetti, fettuccine, or lasagna. To make spelt pasta, simply substitute regular flour with spelt flour, offering a nutty flavor and added health benefits. The ingredient ratio of 100g of flour to 1 egg is a reliable guideline, but feel free to adjust the proportions based on your desired quantity. Kneading the dough is key to achieving the right consistency, and allowing it to rest helps it become more pliable for rolling out. Don't forget to dust your work surface and rolling pin with some flour to prevent sticking. Once rolled out, you can cut the pasta into strips, or shapes of your choice, and cook them quickly in boiling water. Fresh pasta typically cooks in just 3-5 minutes! For those looking to meal prep, this dough freezes well—simply shape, freeze, and store for later use. Homemade pasta not only tastes better but allows you to customize flavors and ingredients, making it a fun and rewarding cooking experience.
