Revolutionary Suicide

By: Huey P. Newton

What do we want? What do we believe?

The first point of the Black Panthers ten point program is freedom. You can read the rest of the ten point program in the book or on the internet. It was their basis on how to start a revolutionary front and it’s something people should look towards as an example. As a tool.

The book as a whole was a real good one on how build with comrades. To know how the black panther’s started, their struggles, and the barriers the FBI placed on them and other new Africans civilians, but they adapted, learned, and kept on going.

They patrolled the streets to protect one another, however after the Mulford act in California they had to come up with new ideas. They started their health clinics, the breakfast programs and many more. Huey had been in prison for 2 years off of false pretenses and during those two years the people supported him. Huey was grateful but pointed out that these funds and support could have been used to build with the community as a whole.

A lot of people think it’s hard to build these programs or to support one another and people really just need to take it one step at a time. Talk a neighbor, ask your homies if they want to cook a meal for the community, join an organization that’s already doin the work so you don’t gotta start from scratch. S/O to @riversidecat911 for building that alternative to calling the cops and other orgs doin the work

All power to the people!! ✊

... Read moreIn 'Revolutionary Suicide,' Huey P. Newton articulates the need for unity and collective action among oppressed communities. Newton emphasizes the pivotal role of the Black Panthers in advocating for social justice through innovative programs like health clinics and community breakfasts. The book serves as a historical reflection on the organization's struggles against systemic oppression. Newton's insight into the principles of empowerment underscores the belief that anyone can contribute to their community's betterment. Today, similar organizations continue to draw inspiration from their example, offering pathways for civic engagement and problem-solving without reliance on traditional law enforcement. Engaging with your neighbors, initiating community meals, or joining established social justice organizations can replicate the legacy of the Black Panthers, demonstrating that incremental steps can lead to significant change. Embrace the spirit of involvement and resist isolation amidst societal challenges. Allow Newton's vision to inspire action and solidarity in contemporary movements for equality.
