For a quick dinner before the theatre on Friday, we tried out the new to Omaha, Wienerschnitzel, over on 72nd. Neither of us had eaten at one before, but it's a national chain that was established in the mid-20th century. Small & efficiently set up. The interior has 4 tables & a counter. Definitely appointed with takeout in mind. There are some old photographs displayed of the former looks of the restaurant chain. A little whimsy nostalgia is a cute touch. It was clean & the staff was inviting.
We each got a Chicago Dog - mine the all beef frank & Josh tried the polish sausage. And we split some Chili Cheese Fries. It was all very good. Classic Chicago Dog toppings, high-quality franks. The fries were exactly what I expected & such a good cheat meal. You know I am finicky about my hotdogs. This place passed the test.
And the best part - all this with 2 medium fountain drinks was under $25.
... Read moreSince my first visit to the new Wienerschnitzel in Omaha, I've had a few more chances to explore what makes this place a fun, quick stop, especially if you're like me and always on the hunt for a great hot dog spot! The initial visit was fantastic, but I wanted to share a bit more to help you make the most of your trip.
First off, let's talk about the drive-thru. The original article mentioned the efficient setup, and the drive-thru is definitely a highlight. It's super convenient for those busy evenings or when you just want to grab a quick bite without getting out of the car. I noticed their 'Drive-Thru OPEN' sign is always prominent, and service is usually pretty fast. If you're wondering about the Wienerschnitzel drive thru menu, it's pretty much all their main offerings – hot dogs, chili dogs, corn dogs, fries, and those delicious Tastee Freez items. Keep an eye out for any Wienerschnitzel specials today; they often have great deals advertised right at the drive-thru window or on their promotional posters that you can spot from the exterior.
Speaking of the menu, beyond the Chicago Dog and chili cheese fries, which are clearly winners, I've also tried their classic chili dog and a corn dog. Their hot dogs are really high quality, which makes a huge difference. For families, I've heard good things about the Wienerschnitzel kids meal options, making it a budget-friendly and fun choice for little ones. If you're a big fan of Wienerschnitzel hot dogs like I am, exploring their different varieties is a must. They really have something for everyone.
I also appreciate the blend of new and old at the Wienerschnitzel restaurant exterior and interior. While it's a new location, they have those charming touches, like the old photographs of vintage 'Der Wienerschnitzel' restaurants. It gives it a bit of character. The staff uniforms are classic, adding to that nostalgic feel without being outdated. And yes, it's always clean and inviting, which is a big plus for me.
Finally, for those nights when you can't make it to the restaurant, I looked into Wienerschnitzel DoorDash and other delivery options. Many locations do offer delivery through popular apps, which is a lifesaver when you're craving those chili cheese fries but don't want to leave home. Just check your preferred delivery service for availability in the Omaha area. So whether you're dining in, going through the drive-thru, or getting delivery, Wienerschnitzel in Omaha offers a great experience for a quick, delicious, and affordable meal. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular!
