I don’t know if this is controversial but my unpopular opinion college is a waste of money for some people. If you know in your heart of hearts that you aren’t going to take it seriously or aren’t ready DO NOT Spend the money just because all your friends are going to college.

... Read moreWhile college has traditionally been viewed as a vital step toward career success and personal growth, it is important to critically assess whether it aligns with your individual goals and readiness. College can be a significant financial burden, with tuition fees, living expenses, and related costs potentially leading to long-term debt. Studies show that not all degrees offer equal return on investment, and some graduates struggle to find work in their fields. For students uncertain about their commitment, motivations, or career direction, alternative paths like vocational training, apprenticeships, community college, or entering the workforce directly can provide practical experience and financial independence. These routes can cultivate valuable skills and meaningful careers without the high costs associated with traditional four-year colleges. It is crucial to measure readiness not only in terms of academic capability but also emotional and financial preparedness. Forcing oneself into college due to societal pressure or peer influence often leads to poor outcomes and wasted resources. Research suggests that success is more closely tied to deliberate career planning and acquiring relevant skills, rather than simply holding a degree. Ultimately, deciding whether to attend college should be a thoughtful, informed choice based on your personal aspirations, financial situation, and readiness to engage fully with the educational experience. Considering the diverse options available today empowers prospective students to choose paths that truly fit their interests and life goals.

Agreed. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to go if they want, but in today’s world it’s hardly worth it to go unless you’re going for something you know will get you a job

I agree but I also don't think college should cost as much as it does and everyone should have the opportunity to go if they want
