Taking A Quick Trip Home ✈️

I’ll be in with my family for just under 36 hours even though it’s technically a 3 day trip 😂 Nevertheless, when it comes to the ATL and LAX airports, it’s best to be in the airport 2-3 hours before your flight time.

If you’ve never been through either one, it’s crucial to be there early! Reading is fundamental and the signs will help, but it’s still easy to get lost and confused. 😅 Alone or not, you need to plan out the entirety of your trip and include the time you’re getting to the airport!

I probably won’t get too much content out there but we’ll see. Safe travels to everyone traveling this summer! 🫶🏽

Arriving 2-3 hours before your flight enables you to handle security checks, baggage drop-off, and any unexpected delays. During busy travel periods, such as summer vacations, consider checking if your flight is on time, as even minor delays can affect your itinerary. Familiarize yourself with airport signage and layout ahead of time. Both ATL and LAX can be overwhelming if you’re not prepared. Resources online provide maps of airport terminals, which can save you significant time. Planning your airport arrival covers not just when you leave for the airport, but also how you'll get there—especially if you’re using public transport or a rideshare service. Packing light is essential for quick trips. Consider travel essentials like a fanny pack for easy access to important items, particularly if you expect to make a connecting flight, as seen in many traveler routine recommendations. Save time by not checking luggage unless absolutely necessary; this allows you to head straight to security, making your journey to your gate much smoother. Lastly, do check airline policies for your specific flight route, especially regarding layovers and boarding times. Every minute counts when your trip is so short. With these strategies, you can maximize your time while enjoying your brief stay, making the most of every moment with family and friends.
