Simplification can bring peace during the holidays
The 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, and I'm already seeing the signs in my practice.....
clients reporting 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘅𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽, and that familiar feeling of 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗱 by endless obligations.
Here's what most people don't realize about holiday stress - it's often driven by hidden factors we don't consciously recognize:
🎯 Perfectionism mentality ("Everything must be perfect or it's ruined") 💰 Financial pressure beyond our means
🔄 Major routine disruptions
😔 Loneliness or grief that intensifies during "joyful" seasons
📅 Social obligation overload
The physical impact? Headaches, fatigue, weakened immunity, and sleep issues.
As professionals, we can model healthy boundaries during this season:
It's okay to decline some invitations.
Simple celebrations can be more meaningful than elaborate ones.
Taking care of your mental health isn't selfish - it's necessary.
𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 I share with clients.....
Take 3 intentional deep breaths, exhaling through your mouth while consciously relaxing your shoulders. Simple but effective for nervous system reset.
How are you planning to protect your peace this holiday season?
