June 4 — Almost 3 months after bunion surgery!
I can finally walk like a normal person again, both in sneakers and barefoot. 🎉
I tried wearing heels, but they’re still a bit difficult to walk in, and I have some discomfort, so I’ll continue physical therapy three times a week for another month. After that, I’ll return to my doctor for follow-up X-rays.
The progress I’ve made is incredible, and I’m feeling more confident every day. If everything continues to heal as expected, I’m hoping to be back in heels by the end of June. 👠✨
Recovery takes time, but every step is getting easier. 💪❤️🩹
Recovering from bunion surgery can be a challenging experience, but with patience and consistent therapy, significant improvement is achievable. From personal experience, the first few weeks focus heavily on managing pain and swelling, but as time progresses, mobility naturally improves. Wearing sneakers and walking barefoot often become milestones during recovery, signaling a return to day-to-day functionality. However, more complex footwear such as heels may require additional time and therapy before they feel comfortable again. Continuing physical therapy, as mentioned with sessions three times a week, plays a crucial role in strengthening the foot muscles and facilitating healing. Keeping up with follow-up appointments like X-rays helps monitor bone alignment and ensures that recovery is on track. It's also important to listen to your body and avoid rushing into activities that cause discomfort. Sharing these steps highlights how recovery is a gradual process that builds confidence over time. For anyone undergoing bunion surgery, setting realistic goals, maintaining therapy consistency, and being patient with progress are key factors to regaining function and comfort in footwear choices, including heels.
