I'd been feeling a bit sluggish and wanted to kickstart a healthier routine, especially with summer approaching and wanting to feel good in my skin. Plus, I've been looking for natural ways to support my body with PCOS, and I heard great things about the benefits of a short cleanse. This wasn't just about 'summer body loading' for me, but truly about activating a healthier, more vibrant life. Before diving in, I spent some time prepping. I went grocery shopping for all my fresh produce. My shopping list was packed with vibrant colors – lots of spinach, beautiful red strawberries, earthy beets, and crisp apples were definitely on there. I also made sure to have some lemons, ginger, and cucumbers on hand for variety. Having everything ready beforehand was key to sticking to it, as I knew I’d have zero energy for last-minute runs once the cleanse started. I also mentally prepared myself for potential cravings and detox symptoms, which I found really helped. Day 1 was surprisingly energizing. I started with a green juice (mostly spinach, apple, cucumber, and a squeeze of lemon) and felt a burst of freshness. It was a pleasant surprise! By midday, I was definitely craving solid food, but knowing I had a delicious berry blend (strawberries, beets, apple, and a touch of ginger) waiting for me kept me going. Honestly, the 'BERRY GOOD BERRY NICE' feeling wasn't just for the taste, but also for how light and clean I started to feel. The biggest challenge was the mental game – resisting the urge to snack out of habit rather than true hunger. Day 2 was a bit tougher. I woke up with a slight headache, which I read is common as your body detoxes. I made sure to drink plenty of water alongside my juices to help flush things out. I focused on making my juices extra flavorful to keep my spirits up – adding a little more ginger for a kick, or a dash of cinnamon to my apple-based drinks. By evening, the headache had subsided, and I felt a renewed sense of clarity and energy. It's truly amazing how much difference just a few days of focusing purely on nutrient-dense liquids can make. I also noticed my digestion felt incredibly calm and efficient. By Day 3, I felt fantastic! My energy levels were high, my skin looked clearer and had a healthy glow, and I felt significantly less bloated. I even noticed an improvement in my overall mood and focus. This cleanse really helped me reset my cravings and appreciate whole, unprocessed foods even more. I lost a couple of pounds, which was a nice bonus, but the main goal was truly to activate a healthier lifestyle, and it definitely delivered. I felt ready for my 'summer body loading' aspirations, not just physically but mentally, too! For anyone considering a 3-day fruit boost juice cleanse, here are my top tips: 1. Listen to your body: If you feel unwell, don't push it. 2. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and herbal teas in between juices. 3. Prepare: Have all your ingredients and recipes ready.
