Nestled on the windward coast of Oahu in Kailua, this beach truly is a slice of paradise with its powder-soft white sand, calm turquoise waters, and the iconic twin Mokulua Islands (or 'Mokes') offshore. If you're wondering where to find the ultimate Hawaiian beach experience, this is it! One of the first things people ask is, 'What are the best things to do in Lanikai?' Beyond simply soaking up the sun and swimming in the unbelievably clear, warm water, kayaking to the Mokulua Islands is an absolute must-do activity. You can rent kayaks nearby and paddle out to these bird sanctuaries. It's an incredible adventure and offers uniquely stunning views of the coastline. Just remember to respect the wildlife and stay on the designated landing areas. Paddleboarding and snorkeling are also fantastic ways to explore the calm, shallow reefs. For those planning a trip, knowing the 'best time to visit Lanikai' is key.
