Change Your Gmail Address Without Losing Your Data
For the first time in its history, Google has begun rolling out a feature that allows users to change their username @gmail.com without having to create a new account from scratch.
Key Points:
Complete transparency: When you change your address, you won't lose emails, contacts, photos, or files from Google Drive. Everything stays in the same account.
Alias System: Your old email address doesn't disappear; it becomes an "alias." This means that if someone emails you at your old address, the message will automatically arrive in your new inbox.
Important restrictions: * There is a limit of 3 changes allowed in total.
There is a 12-month waiting period between each change.
Availability: This feature is being rolled out gradually worldwide (starting with regions like India). You can check its availability in the "Personal Information" section of your Google Account settings.
Why is this important? It solves one of the platform's oldest problems: it allows users to professionalize their accounts (for example, going from a childhood email to a serious one) without the tedious process of migrating all their digital information.
And you have an email address which one do you want to change?
