How to remove your nails 💅🏽

2024/5/9 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my quick tip for gently removing press-on nails using hot water, soap, and oil. That's truly my go-to for keeping my nails healthy and my favorite press-on sets reusable! It's super effective for most glues and prevents any damage to your natural nail bed, which is exactly why I wanted to share How To Remove them properly. But what if your press-ons are extra stubborn, or you're curious about other ways to remove fake nails? Sometimes, especially with stronger glues, a little extra help might be needed. For those cases, an acetone-based soak can work. I usually try to avoid acetone if I want to reuse my nails, but if they're a one-time wear, it can be quicker. You can soak cotton balls in pure acetone, place them on each nail, and then wrap your fingertips in aluminum foil. After about 10-15 minutes, the nails should loosen. Just be super careful not to get acetone on your skin too much, and always moisturize afterward! Another option for press-ons is using rubbing alcohol or even carefully sliding dental floss underneath, but I find the oil soak is safest and least damaging. Now, let's talk about acrylic nails, as removing these is a bit different and often requires a stronger approach. If you're tackling acrylics at home, patience is key! The most common method involves acetone. First, you'll want to buff down the top layer of your acrylics to break the seal. Then, just like with stubborn Press On Nails, you can use the acetone soak-off method with cotton balls and foil. Alternatively, you can fill a bowl with acetone and soak your fingers directly for about 20-30 minutes. Make sure to have good ventilation! The acrylic should start to dissolve and become gooey. You can gently scrape it off with a cuticle pusher. Never force it, or you'll damage your natural nail. For those who absolutely want to avoid acetone with acrylics, it's tougher but not impossible for some types. Nail salons sometimes use electric files to carefully remove the bulk of the acrylic, but I'd highly recommend leaving that to a professional to avoid serious damage. At home, some people try to 'peel' or gently pry off lifting acrylics after a long hot shower, but this is risky and can tear your natural nail. Honestly, for acrylics, acetone is generally the safest and most effective home removal method when done correctly, followed by proper nail care. No matter which method you use for removing any type of fake nails, always prioritize your natural nail health. After removal, I love to file my nails gently, push back my cuticles (never cut them!), and then drench my hands and nails in a rich cuticle oil and hand cream. Giving your nails a break between sets is also a fantastic idea to let them breathe and recover. Remember, beautiful nails start with healthy nails underneath!

This tips would help you have healthier nails. The lemon helps to have white nails that would remove all stains. The oil helps a lot for nails growth. But you can also use any other oil that would help you have healthy and would make your nails grow. I recommend doing this before you go to sleep.
