Trying to show up and promote my Nashville stop has been harder than I expected. Not because these events aren’t meaningful or impactful (they really are), but because it’s a lot trying to build something in cities where I don’t know anyone… and on top of that, trying to get people to show up for something that still carries stigma: mental health.

So yeah, comments like this suck to see.

And honestly, I’m okay admitting that. I’m glad I can notice different feelings that I experience, without letting them impact my actions.

I am not going to sit here and pretend things don’t affect me, that’s honestly the weakest thing I could do.

I feel drained. A little uninspired. Affected. And that’s real.

Will it stop me? No.

Will I dwell on it? Definitely not.

And will I still host this event? Heck ya!

And this is exactly why I created Unfiltered Minds. I want spaces where people don’t have to filter or change how they feel. Where no one is telling you “don’t feel that way” or “you’re too much” or “you’re not enough.”

And if you’re in Nashville and you’ve ever been made to feel like your emotions are too much or not valid enough, this event is for you.

It’s an open mic where anyone can go up and share or come to just listen.

I’ve experienced similar struggles trying to create spaces where people feel safe to express themselves honestly and openly. The Unfiltered Minds event in Nashville is vital because it breaks down barriers that discourage emotional openness. The event’s goal to create a community where individuals don’t have to hide or filter their feelings resonates deeply with me. Such spaces allow for powerful healing and connection, especially if you've ever felt your emotions were dismissed or invalidated. The open mic format encourages both sharing and listening, which can foster empathy and reduce feelings of isolation. From my experience, vulnerability is truly a strength, and public events like this can empower participants to confront stigma in a supportive environment. Whether you’re sharing your mental health journey or simply offering your presence, attending events like Unfiltered Minds can contribute to a broader cultural shift toward understanding and acceptance. If you’re in Nashville or nearby, consider signing up or attending The Cast Collective on April 7, 2026. Bringing $30 for the ticket helps support this important initiative. With limited seats available, it’s a unique chance to be part of a community working to end stigma and promote mental health awareness. Remember, mental health challenges are common and valid. It’s okay to feel affected or drained at times, but taking part in supportive gatherings reminds us that we’re not alone. Events like this highlight the power of shared stories in healing and building resilience.
