the coolest vintage market I’ve visited 🤖

Had the privilege to be invited for their upcoming annual vintage market (@ SAFRA Multi-purpose Hall & Outdoor Areas) which honestly impressed me. 40 curated vendors, rare collectibles, retro arcade game competitions, workshops, & lots of family fun — all in one nostalgic weekend !!

You can expect unique finds — real collectors (most without physical stores) selling one-of-a-kind treasures, fun retro arcade game competitions to play classics like Street Fighter, Metal Slug & Bomberman & win attractive prizes, PLUS exclusive SAFRA membership perks!!

Swung by @oldhabitssg (located nearby) to refuel:

𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐩 ($𝟔.𝟓𝟎):

Blend of button & shiitake mushrooms with a dash of truffle oil. Mushroom flavour came through nicely — rich, earthy, & creamy, with mild truffle notes.

𝐖𝐚𝐠𝐲𝐮 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐚 ($𝟏𝟕.𝟗𝟎):

Spaghetti tossed in an egg cream sauce & topped with tender, juicy striploin beef & a poached egg. Beef was well-cooked & flavourful. (chicken thigh option available !!)

𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧 ($𝟏𝟔.𝟗𝟎):

Spaghetti done Aglio Olio-style and tossed in spicy belachan chili paste, topped with pan-seared salmon with crispy skin. The cherry tomatoes added a burst of freshness, and the rocket leaves balanced the spice. Portion was decent, with options for less spicy or non-spicy versions.

𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 ($𝟔.𝟗𝟎):

Served on a bed of greens — crisp on the outside, juicy inside, & full of that kimchi kick.

𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐮𝐳𝐮 ($𝟒.𝟗𝟎):

Lightly sweetened with a bright, prominent yuzu flavour that’s refreshing & well-balanced✨

Food was a solid 🌟7.5/10 — this isn’t your everyday event, so I highly recommend swinging by for some old-school fun, games, and hearty bites 😋

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to SAFRA Mount Faber’s vintage market, here are some tips from my experience to make the most of it. First, don’t miss the retro arcade game competitions; they add such a lively vibe, and there’s a chance to win some cool prizes if you’re competitive. The mix of games like Bomberman and Metal Slug really brought back memories for me. When browsing the vintage stalls, you’ll find unique items from sellers without physical stores, so it feels like a special treasure hunt. It’s perfect for collectors or anyone looking for one-of-a-kind gifts. For food lovers, Old Habits Cafe right at SAFRA Mt Faber is a must-try stop. Their Mushroom Soup, infused with truffle oil, was rich and comforting, while the Wagyu Beef Carbonara was generously portioned and delicious—the poached egg on top made it extra indulgent. I also enjoyed the Simply Salmon pasta with its balanced spice from the belachan chili, and the Kimchi Dumplings were delightfully crispy outside and juicy inside. Don’t forget to try their Honey Citron Yuzu drink, which was refreshing and just the right amount of sweet, perfect to cool down after all the market excitement. The event usually runs across a weekend, so plan your visit according to the schedule to catch all the workshops and family activities. SAFRA members also get exclusive perks, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this vintage market at SAFRA Mount Faber offers a fantastic blend of nostalgia, unique shopping, games, and good food—a great outing for collectors, families, and anyone looking to enjoy some retro fun in Singapore.
