Nail Preparation for my press on nails

I always remove any old polish and wash my hands thoroughly to eliminate oils or residues that could affect the glue’s grip. Gently pushing back the cuticles with a wooden stick or cuticle pusher helps create a clean nail surface and prevents lifting. Be careful not to damage the skin, as this can cause infections or impact the adhesion. Filing the natural nail lightly with a fine-grit nail file helps the press-on nails sit flush and stick better. I recommend buffing the surface just enough to remove the glossy layer, making it easier for the glue to bond but avoiding over-filing that weakens your nails. If your nails are naturally oily, wiping them down with an alcohol-based nail cleanser or acetone on a cotton pad will enhance the glue’s hold. Choosing the right adhesive is another vital step; many find that a strong nail glue provides a longer-lasting bond than adhesive tabs, especially for daily wear or activities involving water. After applying the press-ons, pressing firmly for about 30 seconds ensures good contact and reduces the chance of lifting. Lastly, I find that avoiding water contact for the first hour after application greatly helps maintain their durability. Following these steps transformed my experience with press-on nails, allowing me to have beautiful, long-lasting manicures that feel comfortable and look professionally done every time.
