pelvic floor chat in the forest💁🏼‍♀️

but for real, as women we need to stop normalizing pelvic floor issues like leakage, heaviness, prolapse or pain with intimacy!

all of us (zero kids, 10 kids, pregnant, post menopausal) deserve to feel confident, strong and symptom-free❤️

... Read morePelvic floor health is a vital but often overlooked aspect of women's well-being. Many misconceptions persist, such as the belief that only women who have given birth experience pelvic floor issues, or that symptoms like leaking when sneezing should be accepted as normal. However, pelvic floor dysfunction can impact anyone, including athletes, women with no children, and those at various life stages. It’s essential to unlearn these myths to foster better health. For instance, waiting until you have finished having children to rebuild your core and pelvic floor can worsen symptoms over time. Instead, consistent and guided pelvic floor exercises can help maintain muscle strength and prevent the onset or progression of issues like prolapse, urinary incontinence, and intimacy-related pain. Another key point is the importance of coordination between pelvic floor muscles and the gut. Practicing relaxation during bathroom visits and focusing on gut health to maintain regularity are crucial for pelvic floor comfort. Professional help, such as physical therapy or occupational therapy specializing in pelvic health, can offer personalized rehabilitation plans. These experts address tightness and weakness in the pelvic floor muscles, which are not always evident but significantly affect symptoms. Also, tools like the Emsella chair are sometimes promoted as easy fixes, but real, lasting improvement typically requires targeted exercises and comprehensive care. By raising awareness and stopping the normalization of pelvic floor symptoms, women can feel empowered to seek help, enhance their quality of life, and embrace strength and symptom freedom regardless of their age, pregnancy status, or number of children.
