Pelvic floor issues have become so normalized that women are changing their lives instead of addressing the reason they’re happening…

Modifying or avoiding workouts.

Wearing pads or only black leggings.

Feeling uncomfortable in your body most of the day.

Saying “mommy can’t” when your kids ask you to play.

But more & more women are choosing not to settle for living with symptoms and that is an incredible thing.

... Read morePelvic floor issues are often underestimated, yet they affect about one in three women, causing symptoms like leaking, pelvic heaviness, urgency, and a constant awareness of discomfort. From personal experience, many women find themselves avoiding workouts, wearing pads, or modifying daily activities just to cope. However, recognizing that these symptoms are not an inevitable part of womanhood is the first step toward reclaiming control. In my journey helping women as a pelvic floor physical therapist, I've seen how early intervention with tailored pelvic floor exercises can restore strength and function, significantly improving quality of life. It’s common for women postpartum to face these challenges, and dedicated recovery programs can be life-changing. Avoiding treatment might seem easier, but it often leads to worsened symptoms and diminished confidence. Instead, seeking professional assessment can provide personalized strategies addressing the root causes, including prolapse issues. Encouragingly, more women are choosing to speak up, break taboos, and invest in their pelvic health. Supporting these efforts is critical; lifestyle changes, guided exercise routines, and pelvic floor therapy can empower women to engage fully with their lives, from playing with children without hesitation to participating actively in fitness. If you’re experiencing symptoms, know that help and effective solutions are available—and it’s never too late to seek them.
