My morning coffee routine

I always use some sort of protein shake when I’m making my protein coffees in the morning. The ones I bought were the Oikos salted caramel. I think they are really good. They aren’t strong they are a mild salted caramel flavor and the consistency is light & smooth.

That's exactly why I fell in love with making my own Oikos protein coffee at home! It’s such a game-changer, especially when I’m craving that indulgent coffee shop taste but also want to sneak in some extra protein. My go-to is definitely the Oikos Salted Caramel protein shake blended seamlessly into my coffee. It's not just about the flavor; the consistency is so light and smooth, it mixes perfectly without clumping, which can sometimes be an issue with other protein powders. I usually make an iced coffee version because I love that refreshing chill. Here’s how I do it: I start with a strong brew of coffee, or sometimes I'll use a shot or two of instant espresso coffee for a quick and potent base. Once it's cooled a bit, I pour in half or a full salted caramel protein shake. Then comes the magic touch: a generous pump of caramel macchiato flavored syrup. I find that the combination of the salted caramel from the Oikos and the macchiato syrup creates a truly irresistible flavor profile that reminds me so much of my favorite café drinks, but way healthier and cheaper! But what if you prefer a hot coffee? No problem! You can absolutely achieve the same delicious result. Just warm up your coffee, then slowly whisk in the Oikos protein shake. Make sure not to boil the protein shake directly, as high heat can sometimes alter the texture. The key is gentle heating and thorough mixing. Beyond the amazing taste, there are real benefits to turning your morning brew into a 'proffee.' Adding protein helps keep me feeling fuller for longer, which curbs those mid-morning snack cravings. It’s also a fantastic way to kickstart muscle recovery if you've had an early workout. Plus, making it at home saves so much money compared to daily coffee shop visits. Think about how much you spend on a fancy coffee – now imagine recreating that experience for a fraction of the cost, with added nutritional benefits! I've also experimented with other Oikos flavors, and while salted caramel is my current obsession, their vanilla or chocolate protein shakes can also create fantastic protein coffee variations. For example, a vanilla Oikos with a hazelnut syrup makes a divine nutty coffee! Don't be afraid to play around with different syrups and coffee strengths to find your perfect blend. It's all about customizing it to your personal taste. Using quality ingredients like a good instant espresso and your favorite Oikos shake truly makes a difference. Give it a try – your taste buds and your wallet will thank you!
