Littlest Pet Shop, or LPS, is a small pet-themed toy from the company Hasbro, United States. It was first launched in 1992 under the Kenner brand before Hasbro subsequently merged.
At first, LPS was a realistic design toy, but after 2005 it was redesigned to look cuter, with big heads, big round eyes, bright colors and gimmicks.
LPS has evolved and changed its design by era, starting with the G1 model (1992-1996) that emphasized real-life pet realism; later, during 1997-2004, the brand temporarily ceased production.
Before returning again in the G2 model (2005-2012), which was at the height of its popularity, with a big head design, big eyes, and a signature foot magnet.
Thereafter, the G3 and G4 models were simplified, both in shape and pattern.
This was followed by the G5 (2017) that debuted with the World of Our Own TV series and reused the airbrushing technique; and the G6 (2017-2020) that featured logo changes and introduced Sparkle Pets.
And most recently, the G7 (2024-present) is a new reboot by Basic Fun Company, with the launch of online content and a virtual reality play system.
For its distinctive sub-collection, there are both Pets in the City, Fairies & Fantasies, Blythe Series, and random boxed Blind Boxes that remain popular among collectors to date.
It includes many accessories such as pet houses, fashion stores, hotels, vehicles, and miniature devices designed to play with the LPS.
