My march schedule as a nurse 😅

Since summer is just around the corner, we are grinding!

I currently work at 2 different hospitals, both in the Emergency Department. One is night shift (7PM-7:30AM) which is per diem (only 4 shifts out of the month is required). The other is my full time travel assignment which I am mid shift (12PM-12:30AM). My goal for the summer is to only work 5-6 shifts a month and spend the rest of the time traveling and laying by the beach 😍 But the only way I get through busy work months like March is honestly with a lot of caffeine 😅 But once summer comes by it will be SO worth it!

... Read moreAs a nurse, managing your schedule can be challenging, especially in high-demand months like March. Understanding the shifts in the healthcare system is important for achieving work-life balance. Night shifts and travel assignments often require strategic planning and self-care practices. Many nurses struggle with fatigue, so maintaining energy levels through proper nutrition and hydration is essential. It's also beneficial to establish a self-care routine that includes rest, relaxation, and finding hobbies that bring joy outside of work. Consider connecting with fellow nurses or joining communities online for support and shared experiences. The demand for nurses continues to grow, making it vital to prioritize mental health and well-being in the busy healthcare field. Engaging in activities like yoga or meditation can significantly enhance your focus and resilience during hectic months. Don't forget to set aside some time for yourself when your schedule allows, as this can combat burnout and keep you motivated. Lastly, make use of apps or planners to stay organized and on top of your shifts, ensuring you have more time for those coveted beach days during the summer months!
