... Read moreOkay, so I'm still buzzing from the Mega Evolutions Prerelease event! The energy was just incredible, and I walked away with some absolute gems that I can't wait to share more about. Honestly, every prerelease feels like a mini-adventure, but this one really delivered on the 'hits' front. First up, and probably my favorite pull, was the holographic Lt. Surge's Bargain Supporter Trainer card. You know, the one with card number 185/132? This card is just gorgeous in person. The artwork featuring Lt. Surge in his gym is so iconic, and the holographic sheen really makes it pop. I remember pulling it and my jaw just dropped. For those who play, you know how crucial Supporter cards are, but for collectors, this one has a special place. I've already started thinking about getting it graded. Could it be a PSA 10? Fingers crossed! It's such a sought-after card, both for its playability (if you're building a specific deck) and its sheer collectibility. The thrill of finding something so rare at a prerelease is truly unmatched. Then there's the stunning Ivysaur Pokémon card with 110 HP, featuring the classic Razor Leaf attack. Wow! The art on this card is just vibrant. I love how it captures Ivysaur's essence, surrounded by swirling leaves and flowers. Razor Leaf is such an iconic grass-type move in the Pokémon universe, and seeing it on such a beautifully illustrated card brings back so much nostalgia from the games. While it might not be the most competitive attacker in every meta, it’s a fantastic card for a Grass deck and definitely one for the binder. It’s those kinds of pulls that make you appreciate the artistry behind the TCG. And how could I forget the powerful holographic Mega Kangaskhan ex Pokémon card with 300 HP? Talk about a powerhouse! The artwork shows Mega Kangaskhan and its baby in an action pose, ready for battle. Its Run Errand ability and Rapid-Fire Combo attack make it a formidable force in the game. I can already imagine building a deck around this beast. Mega Evolutions always bring such a cool dynamic to the game, demanding a bit more strategy with their Spirit Link cards, but offering massive payoffs. Pulling a Mega EX is always a highlight; the sheer power and intricate artwork are just captivating. I also managed to pull an interesting Gumshoos Pokémon card with 100 HP, featuring the Evidence Gathering ability and a Bite attack. While not as flashy as a Mega EX, Gumshoos has a unique charm and can be surprisingly useful in certain situations, especially with its ability. Every card has its place, and finding these unique Pokémon adds to the variety of my collection. Overall, this Mega Evolutions Prerelease was an absolute blast. The excitement of opening those packs, not knowing what treasures lie inside, is what keeps me coming back. Whether it's a potentially high-grade Lt. Surge's Bargain, a beautiful Ivysaur with a classic move like Razor Leaf, or a powerful Mega Kangaskhan ex, every card tells a story. I highly recommend attending a prerelease if you get the chance – it's an experience every Pokémon TCG fan should have!
