Is this just me and my germophobia? Or??? Small daily exposures add up, especially if you’re acne-prone or touching your face frequently! Reducing unnecessary contact is one of the simplest ways to support clearer skin. Which surface shocked you most? 👇 #dermatologist #acneprevention #skincareeducation

... Read moreFrom my own experience dealing with acne-prone skin, I've noticed that being mindful about what I touch throughout the day really makes a difference. For instance, public touch screens at airports and fast food kiosks are true hotspots for germs because many people nearly constantly use them without cleaning. I’ve started carrying a small pack of disinfecting wipes to quickly clean any surface before touching it, which feels like a great habit for protecting my skin. Another surface that really surprised me was gas pumps, which studies show harbor more bacteria than public toilet seats! At first, it sounds unbelievable, but it makes sense considering how many hands touch those handles without any regular sanitization. I now make it a rule to use hand sanitizer immediately after filling up my tank. Door handles in busy areas such as office buildings or public restrooms are another major culprit. They often get overlooked when it comes to cleaning but are prime spots for bacteria transfer from hand to face, especially if you have a habit of touching your face unconsciously. In the beauty world, I discovered that testers in stores are another hidden source of bacteria. Lip products, jars, and wands are shared among many, and repeated handling means you're exposed to all sorts of microbes. I always avoid sampling testers in stores to prevent skin irritation and breakouts. Gym equipment is equally concerning. Weights, mats, and cardio machines accumulate sweat, skin cells, and bacteria throughout the day. I make sure to wipe down equipment before and after use and shower promptly after workouts to keep my skin clear. Ultimately, minimizing unnecessary contact with these high-touch surfaces can significantly reduce bacterial exposure and help maintain healthier, clearer skin. Adopting habits like hand sanitizing, limiting face touching, and cleaning frequently used objects can make a positive impact, especially for anyone prone to acne or skin sensitivity.

A giant inflatable figure of a woman in a blue bikini, representing Kim Kardashian, lies on a black ball on a blue platform labeled 'SKIMS SWIM' in Times Square, NYC. Tall buildings and bright billboards surround the installation, with people walking by.
NYC just got a 60-FOOT Kim K in a BIKINI
WHY is there a giant inflatable Kim Kardashian lounging in Times Square like she’s sunbathing at the Bahamas? The Skims swimsuit collab is aggressively viral, I’ll give her that. Did we need a 60-foot Kim replica? My feed’s flooded with tourists posing like they’re climbing Mount Kardashian.
