Decoding Strategy: How Shopkeepers Will Survive and Grow Up
🍽️ Many stores closed not because of unpalatable food, but because of a lack of strategy.
Strategy is not a complex plan that requires a 10-tab Excel file.
But is...How to think and choose the right path
1️⃣ Strategy = the art of choosing a way.
Not just doing everything other people do, but choosing something important to our store.
❌ Not running every trend.
✅ choose the way we stand out and win long-term.
2️⃣ Business = Value that customers are willing to pay
Ask yourself...
"Why are customers coming to our store?"
"What do we have that competitors can't give?"
Because the value that customers are willing to pay is deteriorating.
The store used to be tight. Today could be quiet.
You have to create something new that always makes customers want to come back.
3️⃣ The target must be big enough.
If the goal just "survives this month," you'll never grow up.
"I want to be the store that people talk about first."
The big goal will force you to think of a backyard system, marketing and a team to support growth.
4️⃣ Business Model: Not Just Selling
Ask clearly
• WHAT → Menu / Service What value do we deliver?
• WHO → Who are our customers really?
• HOW → How can we deliver this experience fast, rewarding and memorable?
A store that understands these three things will not compete only in price, but in experience.
5️⃣ Build a tough shop.
Gain is important, but "strength" is more important.
• Make a system that customers are addicted to → until they don't want to eat anywhere else
• Easy to order customers, convenient such as pay QR, order through the app
• Design the kitchen / backyard system to run fast, reduce the cost of people
6️⃣ know the hidden costs.
Many stores die because of the cost that they never look at.
• Leftovers = lost money every day
• Expensive but not positive raw materials added in price = dissolved profit
• Forced to rent expensive because of regret deposit = Sunk Cost
A good strategy is to know when to "stop losing."
7️⃣ meaningful store lasts longer.
A store that sells well because the flow may only last a few months.
But stores that customers feel attached to will last for years.
Because he felt, "This store means something to me."
8️⃣ Strategy is a path, not a fixed plan.
If you encounter a new situation, don't be afraid to change course.
Sometimes the most workable thing is what's caused by trial and error.
It's not something we've put up since day one.
📌 Summary of lessons for shopkeepers:
• Choose a clear way
• Create new value all the time
• Make the shop stronger than its competitors
• Dare to adapt and change plans
The store that survived wasn't the most famous.
It is the store that "thinks, strategizes, is and adapts the fastest."
