get dunked on kid
Hey fellow cosplayers and Undertale fans! I wanted to share a little more about my journey bringing Sans to life. When I first decided to cosplay Sans, I knew it wasn't just about throwing on a blue hoodie; it was about capturing his laid-back yet powerful vibe. If you're thinking of tackling a Sans cosplay yourself, here are some tips and insights I picked up along the way! First off, the iconic blue hoodie is non-negotiable. I spent a while looking for the perfect shade of blue – not too bright, not too dark, but that distinct Sans blue. Fleece or a soft cotton blend works best for that comfy, slightly oversized look. Don't forget to get one with a spacious hood! Underneath, a simple black t-shirt is all you need. For the shorts, plain black athletic shorts with a white stripe down the side are key. If you can't find striped ones, you can easily add a white fabric strip or even use white fabric paint for that clean line. Now, for the footwear – those pink slippers! They're such a unique touch. I managed to find a pair of fluffy pink house slippers that were pretty close, but if you're feeling crafty, you could also get plain white slippers and dye them or cover them with pink fabric. They add so much character! And don't forget the crisp white cartoon-style gloves to complete the hands. Then comes the makeup, which is crucial for transforming into a skeleton. I started with a good quality white face paint for the base, making sure to blend it evenly. For the eye sockets, I used black face paint, carefully shaping them to match Sans's distinctive look. A bit of black eyeshadow or grey contouring can add depth around the cheekbones and jawline to give that skeletal illusion. If you want to go the extra mile for photos, learning how to add a glowing blue eye effect (either with an LED behind transparent material or digital editing) can really make your cosplay pop! Finally, embodying Sans isn't just about the costume; it's about the attitude. Practice some casual, hands-in-pockets poses, maybe a shrug, and that signature mischievous grin. Having a prop like a Gaster Blaster (even a simple cardboard cutout one!) can elevate your photos and give you something fun to interact with. Remember to stay comfortable, especially if you're wearing this to a convention. Cosplay should be fun, so enjoy the process of becoming your favorite character!
