To my younger self…

Dear Past Me,

You will be okay. You will make it.

Things seem so permanent right now, so final. It just isn’t so. Nothing in life is forever, for better or for worse. Make the most of what you can while you can, make mistakes and learn from them, push yourself to grow, let go of what doesn’t bring you joy, overcome every obstacle, and realize you are not owed anything.

You aren’t owed kindness in return for what you give, you aren’t owed forgiveness, you aren’t owed a second chance. Be grateful for what you have, make happiness when you can’t find it, and let your light shine.

You will be okay. You will make it.

Love,

Your 26-year-old Self

P.S. Be nice to your sisters. They are your first babies, the first beings to deserve the best version of you.

I love this! I always try to write a letter to my younger self once a year. Just to remind myself how much I have grown & all the things I’ve overcame.
