A Decade’s Difference ✨
These two selfies were taken nearly 10 years apart 🤯 The top picture was taken on the stage of the theatre of my high school in 2015, I would have been 16 or freshly 17. The bottom picture was taken at my office job just a couple days ago, I will be 27 in August.
When you look at these pictures, you are witnessing ten years worth of growth, love, pain, anger, forgiveness, and joy written out on my face.
The first girl thought she knew it all. She carried herself with confidence, never doubting her choices and throwing her energy towards anything or anyone who would receive it.
The second girl? She knows enough to know that she doesn’t know much. She is reserved in offering her energy, she is slower to invest time. She still gets a little too rowdy sometimes, but she works where her efforts are best served.
Oh, the difference 10 years can make. So many lessons learned, mistakes made, relationships forged and lost. I’m so proud of her. She’s come so far, she’s worked hard, and she hasn’t let the world change her spirit. She is unrecognizable and yet so intimately familiar.
