BookTok Made Me Buy It 📖
Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler is a dystopian fiction book published in 1993, set in the year 2024.
It is stark and poignant, thoughtful and compelling. Butler writes with an artistic vision that only develops through dedication to one’s craft with a combination of natural talent. There have been several paragraphs I’ve had to stop and read aloud just to fully appreciate the writing.
I’m only 80 pages in so I can’t give a full review yet, but I am SO looking forward to where this story will lead. There’s even a sequel, Parable of the Talents, that I’ve got my eye on!
If you’re looking for a beautiful new piece of fiction to devour, Parable of the Sower is shaping up to be a shining star in my library! 📚 Very much looking forward to reading Octavia Butler’s other books!
