I’d choose oblivion over being MAGA.
Living as a transgender person in today's political climate often feels like navigating a minefield, especially when confronted with ideologies that contradict one's identity and values. The statement "I'd rather be cute in every reality than have to exist as MAGA in even one" reflects a profound rejection of a political culture that some feel marginalizes and oppresses them. From personal experience, the freedom to express one's true self is invaluable. Being part of the trans community means embracing authenticity, resilience, and the ongoing fight for acceptance. MAGA culture, often characterized by certain conservative and exclusionary ideals, can feel alienating to many — especially those whose existence challenges traditional norms. Walking through everyday life, wearing the badges of identity such as pronouns or visible expressions of gender affirmation, can be empowering but also risky amidst divisive rhetoric. Choosing oblivion or complete invisibility over submission to an ideology that negates one's self-worth is a powerful statement about the value of authenticity. Engaging with communities online, like those of transgirlsoftiktok and transgendergirls, provides solidarity and strength. These spaces foster understanding and shared stories that combat isolation. Rejecting harmful political cults or movements that undermine marginalized groups becomes not only a political stance but a form of self-preservation. Ultimately, this perspective encourages us to courageously stand for who we are, to find beauty in every reality that aligns with our truth, and to reject any identity that forces conformity at the cost of our dignity and well-being.
