The Parables Of Jesus Explained Simply

Did you know Jesus taught some of His most important lessons through simple stories called parables?

Many believers read the parables but struggle to remember what they mean, why Jesus told them, and where they are found in Scripture. That’s exactly why I created this visual storyboard.

📖 This Parables of Jesus storyboard brings together some of Jesus’ most well-known teachings into one easy-to-follow visual study guide, showing what each parable is about and where you can find it in the Bible.

Inside this storyboard you’ll discover:

✨ The Parable of the Sower

✨ The Good Samaritan

✨ The Prodigal Son

✨ The Lost Sheep

✨ The Mustard Seed

✨ The Talents

✨ The Wise and Foolish Builders

✨ The Rich Fool

✨ The Persistent Widow

✨ And many more

Each section includes:

📍 What the parable teaches

📍 Its main spiritual lesson

📍 The book, chapter, and verses where it is found

📍 Easy visual references to help with Bible study

Jesus often used parables to reveal truths about God’s Kingdom, faith, obedience, repentance, forgiveness, stewardship, and the condition of the human heart.

📚 Perfect for:

• Personal Bible study

• Bible journaling

• Homeschool curriculum

• Sunday school lessons

• Small group studies

• New believers learning Scripture

• Digital note-taking apps

• Christian wall art and study rooms

Key Bible References:

📖 Matthew 13

📖 Matthew 25

📖 Luke 10

📖 Luke 12

📖 Luke 15

📖 Luke 16

📖 Luke 18

📖 Mark 4

One of Jesus’ most repeated statements about parables was:

“Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” — Matthew 13:9

The purpose of this storyboard is to help readers better understand Jesus’ teachings, connect the stories to their biblical references, and see how these lessons point people toward God’s Kingdom.

📚 Every Drawn By Scripture storyboard includes Bible references throughout the design so you can study directly from God’s Word and verify every detail for yourself.

🤎 As always, these visual resources are not founded on my own understanding, opinions, or traditions. Every board is built directly from Scripture, with Bible references included throughout so that God’s Word remains the authority and the proof.

Which parable of Jesus has impacted your life the most, the Prodigal Son, the Good Samaritan, the Sower, or another one?

... Read moreUnderstanding parables is a rewarding journey that brings the teachings of Jesus to life in very practical ways. From my experience studying parables like the Mustard Seed and the Persistent Widow, I’ve found that these stories aren’t merely historical lessons but living truths that resonate deeply with everyday challenges and faith. For example, the Parable of the Sower highlights how different people respond to God's Word, teaching us to reflect on our own hearts and how open we are to spiritual growth. This personal reflection is valuable — I remember a time when I was struggling with doubt, and this parable helped me see the importance of nurturing faith even in rocky soil. The Good Samaritan story struck me as a powerful call to active compassion. It challenges us to go beyond social and cultural boundaries to truly love our neighbors. Applying this parable practically has helped me become more empathetic in my community and look for ways to serve without judgment. Additionally, the Parables like the Talents remind us about stewardship and using our gifts responsibly. This personal application encourages me to be diligent in my work and generous with what I’ve been given, recognizing it as service to God. These parables also reflect core themes such as forgiveness, humility, and the priceless nature of God's Kingdom. Using visual study guides that include precise Scripture citations, like Matthew 13 and Luke 15, makes it easier to dive deeper into these stories. It allows us to verify interpretations directly from the Bible which is critical for sound understanding. If you’re new to Bible study or looking to enrich your faith journey, exploring these parables through visual aids and repeated reading can transform abstract teachings into practical life wisdom. Whether for homeschooling, Sunday school, or personal enrichment, understanding the parables helps us grasp God’s message more fully and apply it with heart and conviction. Ultimately, the phrase "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear" (Matthew 13:9) challenges each reader to listen beyond the words and let the parables change how we live each day.
