I saw these while I was shopping at Ulta and was wondering if anyone has tried them. They smell really good and look pretty. I have very wavy hair with some curls. #shopwithme #lemon8contest #lemon8challenge #Lemon8Diary #letschat
Seeing those beautiful pink and clear bottles at Ulta totally resonates with me! As someone with wavy and curly hair, finding the right products is a never-ending journey. It’s not just about what smells good or looks pretty on the shelf; it's about what truly works for our unique hair type. For us curly girls, volume can be a double-edged sword – we want it, but without the frizz! When I'm hunting for volumizing curly hair products, I always look for formulas that lift the roots without weighing down my curls. Ingredients like rice protein, panthenol, and even some lightweight polymers can make a huge difference. I've found that volumizing hair sprays applied directly to the roots before diffusing, or a good curl-defining mousse, can give that extra oomph. Don't be afraid of light hold gels either; they can provide definition and hold without sacrificing bounce. The key is to apply them to wet hair, scrunch upwards, and diffuse for maximum lift. I also try to avoid heavy butters or oils at the roots if volume is my main goal, saving those for the mid-lengths and ends. The world of shampoo and conditioner can be overwhelming, especially when you consider all the different types. For my wavy and curly hair, I rotate between a few to keep my strands happy and healthy: Moisturizing Shampoos & Conditioners: These are my staples. They're packed with hydrating ingredients like shea butter, argan oil, or hyaluronic acid to combat dryness, which is common for curly hair. Clarifying Shampoos: Every few weeks, I use a clear-wash clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup without stripping too much moisture. This helps my curls 'reset' and absorb new products better. Sulfate-Free Options: I mostly stick to sulfate-free shampoos to prevent my hair from getting too dry or frizzy. Protein-Rich Formulas: If my hair feels limp or lacks elasticity, I'll incorporate a protein-rich conditioner or treatment. This can help strengthen the hair shaft and improve curl definition. Volumizing Shampoos & Conditioners: When I specifically want more lift, I reach for products designed to add body. They usually have lighter formulas and ingredients that don't weigh down the hair. The labels mentioning 'baby-soft' or lightweight formulas often catch my eye for this purpose. Co-Washing: Sometimes, on wash days where my hair just needs a refresh without a full shampoo, I'll use a co-wash (conditioner wash) to gently cleanse and moisturize. Beyond cleansing and conditioning, the OCR mentioned nourishing oils and anti-frizz cream, which are absolute must-haves for curly hair. Oils can seal in moisture, while anti-frizz creams are perfect for smoothing down any flyaways, especially after styling. I've found that applying a small amount of anti-frizz cream after my styler, especially on humid days, makes a huge difference. And always remember to use a leave-in conditioner before any stylers to ensure your curls stay hydrated! It's all about experimenting to see what combination of these different types of shampoo and conditioner and volumizing curly hair products works best for your unique curls. What are your personal holy grail products from Ulta or elsewhere for adding volume to your wavy/curly hair? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
