Their initial warmth and social skills make them highly persuasive and Likable.
A deep need for status and power drives them to work longer hours and out-work competitors to get noticed.They excel at managing upward, carefully flattering bosses and decision-makers while at times they may be mistreating peers or subordinates.
Ruthless execution: A lack of empathy allows them to make hard, unpopular decisions—like layoffs or aggressive cuts—without emotional hesitation
Short-term results: Narcissists often deliver rapid, highly visible short-term wins, while the damage they may cause might take longer to surface.
The “Hero” bias: Modern corporate culture frequently rewards dominant, individualistic behavior, mistakenly equating a loud ego with decisive leadership.
