จากประสบการณ์ที่ได้อ่านหนังสือ Suddenly Talented และสะท้อนความคิดที่ว่าครูและวิธีการสอนมีผลต่อความสำเร็จของนักเรียน ผมเห็นชัดว่าเมื่อเปลี่ยนวิธีคิดและการเรียนรู้จากแหล่งที่ถูกต้อง ก็ช่วยให้พัฒนาได้ดีขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว ตัวอย่างง่าย ๆ เรื่องวาดรูปปลาวาฬจาก 8 ขั้นตอน ที่หนังสือแนะนำ ทำให้ผมคิดว่า สิ่งที่ดูเหมือนยากในตอนแรก หากมีวิธีการเรียนรู้ที่ถูกต้องและขั้นตอนชัดเจน ก็ทำให้คนธรรมดาสามารถทำได้ แม้จะคิดว่าตัวเองไม่มีพรสวรรค์ก็ตาม เช่นเดียวกับ Michael Phelps ที่บอกว่าเขาไม่ใช่คนพิเศษ เพียงแค่ใช้เวลาฝึกฝนอย่างต่อเนื่องนานยี่สิบปีเป็นต้น ผมเองก็เคยลองแบ่งปัญหาหลาย ๆ เรื่องออก เป็นส่วนเล็ก ๆ เพื่อแก้ไขทีละประเด็น ทำให้ไม่รู้สึกท่วมท้นหรือยอมแพ้กลางทาง และความคิดนี้ช่วยได้อย่างมากเวลาที่เจอสถานการณ์ซับซ้อนในชีวิตประจำวัน ความมั่นใจเป็นเรื่องสำคัญ ผมพบว่าการสร้างพื้นที่ให้ตัวเองได้ลองผิดลองถูกไม่มีผลเสียร้ายแรง ช่วยเพิ่มความกล้าและลดความกลัวความล้มเหลว เช่นเดียวกับการเตรียมใจและใช้เครื่องมือหรือเทคนิคที่เหมาะสมสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้และการทำงาน ทำให้ผมเริ่มพัฒนาทักษะได้ชัดเจนขึ้น และมีความสุขกับการเรียนรู้มากขึ้น ในแง่ของการเปรียบเทียบกับช่างไม้ฝีมือดีหรือไม่ดีนั้น ผมคิดว่าความชำนาญไม่ได้ขึ้นกับเครื่องมือเพียงอย่างเดียว แต่ขึ้นกับวิธีใช้เครื่องมือและความตั้งใจฝึกฝนอย่างจริงจัง จึงเห็นได้ชัดว่าโอกาสในการเก่งขึ้นอยู่กับตัวเราที่พร้อมจะเรียนรู้และปรับปรุงตัวเองตลอดเวลา ท้ายสุด หากใครกำลังมองหาแรงบันดาลใจหรือแนวทางพัฒนาตัวเอง ลองมองหนังสือดี ๆ หรือแหล่งความรู้อย่าง Suddenly Talented ที่ผมได้แนะนำนี้ น่าจะช่วยเปิดมุมมองและช่วยให้การพัฒนาติดสปีดขึ้นได้จริง โดยไม่ต้องกดดันตัวเองมากจนเกินไปครับ
