A few years ago…
A few years ago, God told me I wasn’t truly stewarding my life. At first, I thought He was only talking about my time. I kept thinking, “If I just manage my schedule better, I’ll be stable.”
But as I prayed for clarity, God started showing me it wasn’t just my time alone:
👉🏾It was my finances. Was I protecting what He entrusted to me?
👉🏾It was my energy. Was I pouring into people who never poured back into me?
👉🏾It was my health. Was I caring for my body, my mind, and my emotions?
👉🏾It was my spiritual life. Was I truly connected to Him, or just running on empty?
That’s when I realized what stewardship really means. It’s not just about giving or budgeting. Stewardship is about the WHOLE person.
And here’s where it hit me, we take out insurance for everything else — our cars, our homes, even our phones. But we “forget” to protect the very thing that holds all of it together-ourselves.
You are your greatest asset. And how you protect yourself, your life, your health, your income, your future, is a reflection of how you honor what God gave you. Straight up. Whether we choose to believe it or not.
Thats why when we neglect ourself trauma survives. However, protecting yourself is how healing begins.

Stewardship is often thought of in limited terms like managing money or budgeting time, but the true essence goes much deeper. It involves the holistic care of all aspects of a person's life—physical, financial, emotional, and spiritual. When we ignore one area, it can impact the others, causing imbalances that affect overall wellbeing. The phrase from the image, "YOU ARE YOUR GREATEST ASSET," powerfully reinforces this message. Just as people take insurance to protect their possessions, we must consciously invest in protecting ourselves—our health, our finances, and our emotional stability. Neglecting self-care not only opens the door for trauma to persist but also limits personal growth and healing. From a financial literacy perspective, protecting what God has entrusted involves wise money management, savings, and planning for the future to reduce financial stress. But that’s only one piece of the puzzle. Energy management is just as important—being mindful of where you invest your time and whom you allow into your inner circle can protect your mental and emotional resources. Furthermore, caring for your health—mental, physical, and emotional—is foundational stewardship. This could mean regular check-ups, mental health support, healthy eating, exercise, and stress reduction techniques. Spiritual stewardship requires maintaining a genuine, connected relationship with God or your faith practice, which often replenishes strength and purpose. Recognizing that stewardship is a continuous journey rather than a one-time fix helps create sustainable habits that nurture the whole person. By prioritizing yourself as your greatest asset, you create a stronger foundation to support not only your life but also serve others effectively. This holistic approach ultimately leads to greater stability, resilience, and healing from past wounds or trauma. Embracing the full scope of stewardship empowers you to protect what truly matters, ensuring you live a balanced, purposeful life aligned with your values and faith.
