Parentification happens when a child takes on emotional or physical responsibilities that belong to the adults in the home.

You became the caretaker, the peacekeeper, or the emotional support for your parents before you even got to be a child.

You were praised for being “mature,” but what they really meant was you learned to survive by taking care of everyone else.

And that kind of childhood doesn’t disappear. It shows up in how you love, how you lead, and how you rest or can’t rest.

But here’s the truth: you’re not broken. You were conditioned. And what was once survival can now be healed.

Follow me if you’re ready to understand how your past still lives in your patterns and how to rewrite it with healing and awareness.

And I’m tired as hell.

I don't know how, it's been 31 years and there are *so* many walls and masks up to try and protect that innocent little girl inside. I know I'm tired, but I'm still standing, shakily but standing with a back full of knives from the very people that parentified me. My Daddy's worst fears came true the day he died 😔I have BPD from my childhood plus had the knowledge that I'm autistic hidden from me until I was an adult. Why have me if you were only going to hurt me? What did I ever do to you but exist? For real .. I want my dad back so badly, just to feel safe again 😭
