I enjoyed watching this movie.. as it played, It made my mind reminisce back into the book of Luke, which talks about the birth of Jesus. This movie has dive deeper into Mary and what she had endured while carrying Jesus.
This movie is so moving it shifted my mind in such a more positive light on life in a whole… I literally admire Joseph love and sacrifices he made for Mary. He literally stood tall, while everyone was condemning her and judging her which led them to do the same to him. The same love that she carried in her as (Jesus) who give us ALL unconditional love was also gave to her through Joseph before & after the birth of christ and it’s so powerful to witness, especially if you have read the book of Luke before even watching Mary..
this movie made me feel god’s presence even more..
This movie signifies the coming of Christ and how believers before us understood the prophecy of his birth and how strong they were in their faith… & I feel like this is a testament of God telling us as believers to keep in that magnifying faith until his return… it won’t be easy but it will be worth waiting..
I was receiving chills through this movie and it’s a
... Read moreOkay, so I just had to come back and share even more about 'Mary' on Netflix after my first thoughts! This isn't just another movie about the nativity; it's a truly profound deep dive into the very human experience of Mary, Joseph, and the incredible challenges they faced. If you're searching for a comprehensive review of this faith-based film, you've come to the right place!
What really struck me, beyond the spiritual depth, was how the film brings the story from the Book of Luke to life with such vivid detail and emotional authenticity. It doesn't shy away from the fear, doubt, and societal condemnation Mary endured. You truly feel her isolation and the burden of carrying such a sacred secret. Picture this: a young woman, likely wearing simple, earthy tones like the green and olive-colored robes and head covering often depicted, facing an unimaginable situation. The movie beautifully portrays her strength and unwavering faith under immense pressure. Seeing her with the swaddled baby, it really hits home the vulnerability and immense responsibility she carried, not just for herself, but for all of humanity.
And Joseph! Oh my goodness, his character in this movie is truly inspiring. The original article mentioned his unconditional love, and I want to elaborate on that. He wasn't just a background figure; he was her unwavering support system, standing tall against a world quick to judge. His protective love and his own struggles with understanding God's plan are depicted with such sensitivity and depth. It makes you realize the incredible sacrifice and faith required from both of them, challenging the traditional, often simplified, portrayals. The film highlights his inner turmoil and ultimate devotion, which is incredibly moving.
The cinematography itself is quite captivating, often using subtle lighting and natural settings to create an immersive experience that feels both ancient and deeply personal. You feel transported, witnessing these pivotal moments unfold. The pacing allows for thoughtful reflection, letting you truly absorb the weight and wonder of their journey.
This film isn't just about the birth of Christ; it’s a powerful testament to the human spirit, divine intervention, and the impact of pure, unconditional love. It explores what it truly means to believe when everything around you seems impossible, and how faith can provide solace and strength in the face of adversity. For anyone looking for a Netflix movie that truly resonates on a spiritual level, offering a fresh perspective on a timeless story, 'Mary' is an absolute gem. It left me contemplating prophecy, the power of belief, and the courage it takes to walk in faith, even when the path is unclear. It’s definitely one to add to your #moviesforchristians list and share your thoughts with fellow believers.
