Story time: I know people are saying linewives and all other wives are being dramatic but honestly, i use to travel with him full time, the stuff i seen with my own eyes was deplorable, no wife should ever feel 100 percent safe, call it insecurity call it whatever ya want but cheating has nothing to do with looks, it’s all about ur character and morals, women really need to stay on alert and not be soo blissfully ignorant as it can be any of us any day, and in my experience it was always the guys that had the most and were the happiest go lucky non suspecting nice type guys and the wives never suspected 🥺 it was a hard pill to swallow.
The story time:
My husband use to work with a guy that used the company phone for tinder and he would use a fake name for every different town, and meet the women @ the hotels on Lunch , he had a whole wife and family back home, this man was pushing 45, he acted like the nicest most put together family guy too, the amount of stories I have from just traveling with lineman for over 10 years is a lot 😳 and i married a lineman 😳 I like to believe he would never but in this world I won’t ever say it couldn’t ever happen to me after seeing what I saw when I use to travel with my husband , these guys were pros, they would fly there wives/ kids in for the weekend and act all perfect and then as soon as she was gone have another at the hotel 😳, I always wanted to blast these guys and I never had the chance due to job security at the time.
Traveling full-time with my husband, a lineman, opened my eyes to a side of the job few see. It’s not just about physical labor and long hours; it also involves navigating complex interpersonal dynamics that deeply affect families. From my observations, cheating has little to do with appearance and everything to do with personal morals and character. What shocked me most was realizing how often seemingly 'perfect' family men led double lives, using tactics like fake names and dating apps during their work travels. One case involved a coworker who used a company phone to operate Tinder under different aliases, meeting women at hotels during lunch breaks. Despite having a wife and kids, he maintained an impeccable family image, fooling everyone around him. Unfortunately, behavior like this isn’t rare in the lineman community—many are incredibly discreet and skillful at hiding their indiscretions. This lifestyle poses unique challenges for spouses who must balance trust with awareness. It’s tempting to dismiss suspicions as insecurity, but my experience taught me the importance of staying alert without becoming consumed by paranoia. The emotional toll is real and profound, especially when you consider how these men often fly their families in for weekends of perceived bliss before returning to their secret lives. For anyone married to or involved with linemen—or professionals frequently away from home—communication and mutual transparency are vital. It’s essential to build a strong foundation where concerns can be openly discussed to prevent misunderstandings and to protect emotional wellbeing. Sharing these personal observations aims to support and empower others facing similar challenges while shedding light on this hidden aspect of life on the road. Every spouse deserves to feel secure and respected, and understanding these dynamics is a step toward healthier, more honest relationships in the lineman community and beyond.
