4 ways to get ahead academically in summer ☀️

I always get so antsy during the summer since I don't have anything to do academically. This summer, I have been prepping for the fall semester! These will help you stay motivated and on top of opportunities! 💪📚

1. Read books related to your courses!

✨ Look at the course description to see what material you'll be covering

✨ Research related books and check out your local library!

2. Research labs you might want to work in!

✨ Look at research labs to see if any are interesting to you — participation looks GREAT on resumes!

✨ Amazing opportunity to do hands-on science work!

3. Check graduation requirements!

✨ Sometimes graduation requirements change, so be sure you know what courses you will need

✨ I use a Google Sheet to track all of mine!

4. Start a passion project!

✨ Think about what you value and care about

✨ BONUS if it connects to your academic interests!

✨ Don't feel pressured to start an expensive one — there's plenty you can do for free

To tackle this, consider these enriching strategies: First, dive into books that are relevant to your upcoming courses. This proactive step will not only keep your mind sharp but also familiarize you with expected coursework. Explore your local library or online resources for titles that align with your studies. Additionally, research available internships or research labs in your field of interest. Engaging in hands-on projects not only enhances your learning experience but also significantly boosts your resume, making you stand out in future applications. Many opportunities are available over the summer, so be sure to act quickly! Moreover, revisit your graduation requirements to ensure you're on track. Course requirements can often change, making it crucial to stay informed. Using organizational tools like Google Sheets can help you visualize your academic path and deadlines. Lastly, channel some creativity by starting a passion project. This endeavor allows you to explore topics you love while possibly connecting to your academic interests. Whether it's writing, creating art, or online projects, there are numerous ways to express yourself without financial barriers. Embrace your summer by growing both personally and academically!
