do i really need these for my apartment?

I'll be moving into an off-campus apartment this year, which is exciting but also scary. I lived in an on-campus apartment last year so I have an idea of what I need. It's just kinda annoying to hunt for absolutely everything 😩

Please de-influence me so I don't spend too much money online shopping 💔 or venmo me in support (kidding kidding)

... Read moreMoving into a new apartment is an exciting but daunting experience, especially for first-time renters. It’s important to strike a balance between purchasing essentials and avoiding impulse buys that can quickly add up. Consider making a checklist that prioritizes your needs over wants. Start with basic furniture such as a bed, sofa, and dining table. Don't overlook necessary kitchen items like utensils, cookware, and storage solutions. Additionally, focus on creating an inviting atmosphere with decor that reflects your personality. Items like wall art, throw pillows, and plants can enhance your space without breaking the bank. For budget-friendly options, consider visiting thrift stores or checking online marketplaces for second-hand items. Furthermore, organization is key in small spaces. Invest in multifunctional furniture, such as ottomans with storage or a bed frame that includes drawers. This will maximize your space efficiently. Researching DIY decoration ideas can also add a personal touch to your apartment while saving money. Ultimately, the goal is to build a living space that feels like home without overwhelming your finances. By being mindful of your purchases and focusing on what you truly need, you can create an apartment that blends functionality with style.

1. I’m not a huge decorator, so I think if you really want these then why not, especially if they’re not too expensive. Make your apartment feel like a home, so if these will help then go for it. The other comment had a good idea with the prints though if these are expensive. 2. Honestly this seems super cute and functional, and you’ll probably get a good amount of use out of it. If it’s within your budget, go for it. 3. I would maybe see if you have another place to put the record player first, like a dresser or something. If it won’t fit anywhere else comfortably then go for it. 4. It is adorable, but I don’t see much of a use for it. I’d just use the money on nicer candles, maybe scented or stress-relief ones. 5. Not too bad of an idea, maybe just check with your roommates first to see if this is an idea they also like. If they don’t like it, then you may be able to use the hooks for light bags or something in your room. 6. This seems really useful, unless you already have something to put your products on/in. 7. I’m assuming your apartment will have a kitchen? If so, they tend to be average/smaller size so I think this would cause more clutter than anything. And you don’t really need a microwave in your room if you have the kitchen 8. It is really pretty, I have a couple that are kinda like it. If you need a new jewelry box or something i5 could be useful, but only get it if you think you could use it. 9. I have one of these that doubles as a wax cube melter. I’d suggest getting a wax cube melter instead, because I’ve had candle wicks sink into the candle when I used it, so now I can’t light them as easy. This would be more useful for dorms, where they have the no candle rule.
