Pothos HELP!!!! 🪴

If you’ve noticed yellowing and black tips on your pothos leaves, you're not alone—it’s a common issue many indoor plant enthusiasts face. Based on my experience caring for pothos, these symptoms often point to a few key care factors. Overwatering is the leading culprit; pothos prefer their soil to dry out between waterings. When kept consistently soggy, the roots can develop rot, causing stress that shows as discolored leaf tips. Light also plays a crucial role. While pothos tolerate low light, they thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, resulting in brown or black edges. Conversely, insufficient light can weaken the plant, causing leaves to yellow. Humidity and temperature fluctuations impact pothos health too. These plants enjoy moderate to high humidity and stable temperatures; dry air or sudden cold drafts can stress them. From my personal attempts, I recommend checking soil moisture with your finger or a moisture meter and adjusting watering accordingly. If overwatering is probable, allow the plant to dry out, and consider repotting into fresh, well-draining soil. Move your pothos to a spot with bright but indirect light, avoiding harsh afternoon sun. Increasing ambient humidity by misting or using a pebble tray has also refreshed my plants.
