Why I DONT Scrape Stickers anymore
In 2020/2019? I started my first job that my mom and grandpa helped me get, (my grandpa worked there for 20+ years) I was a custodian and they needed extra hands to help with covid standards. They had me spraying rooms, wiping down any surface that got touched, doing floors, windows, the works. And for a first job it wasnt terrible at all. The biggest down side at the time was how often I got sick (and not just with covid.) Even with all the extra cleaning it still would spread around the school. Which is to be expected with so many bodies in one space.
And on occasion I'd have to scrape stuff off the floor which ended up being one of my all time favorite things to do.
At first I'd record the videos for myself because I truly found it satisfying, and I had some friends who said I should post more about my job because they also found it cool, as I continued to post I went from have 15k followes on tiktok, to 300k in just a couple years.
I truly adored alot of the teachers who worked there and working with some family members really helped me come out of my shell.
They eventually found my tiktok, along with some of the students, and were all really supportive.
Which surprised me tbh, I had a feeling someone might make a huff about it but it seems everyone thought the double hustle was cool, some to this day still brag in my comment section saying they went to that school.
And I can't emphasize how grateful I am for the opportunities this job brought.
But it all kind of fell apart when they started letting people go.
I watched alot of people that stood firmly behind their community be swept aside like non of it even mattered. I guess that's where I realized that not all good things last forever.
Once my supervisor left, I can't lie, things kind of fell apart.
I will have to start saying allegedly for some of this so I don't cause any trouble but after almost 4 years of working there they allegedly hired someone who didn't seem to care about the rules of the school very much. Like, how allegedly, people shouldn't put their hands on eachother.
Let alone someone you just met.
Now you can say I'm dramatic or I over reacted but as a 24 25ish? year old women who's literally 5 foot exact, who was working by herself in the hallway cleaning lockers, not to mention i have a really bad anxiety disorder, I feel like anyone I'm my position would have been uncomfortable with the situation.
A grown ass, like 60 year old man, allegedly set both of his hands on my shoulders, and nudged me towards the lockers saying he's an old school bully who's going to, allegedly, stuff me into a locker. Unprovoked. is. weird.
I let my grandpa know and he told me to tell our big boss.
Now the next part is another thing that really got to me at the time, I won't lie I'm still aggregated about it.
He was told to apologize to me, on his own time, without our boss there, and the way he looked at me and allegedly said
"I'm sorry that YOU don't like being touched, I didn't know" made me feel like it was such an inconvenience on him that he had to apologize.
With this half assed apology in such an unapologetic tone hurt.
It hurt that it didn't seem to dawn on him that his actions were unacceptable in a work place, let alone a school.
Think about if it were a kid instead, would that have been okay?
Or the fact I was a women working alone in that part of the building, does that seem like the appropriate thing to do to someone you just met?
Personally I don't think so.
But the saddest part is I didn't quit then.
I continued to work there until one night my co worker, allegedly, yelled at me about her having to do her job, when at the time I was coming in 2 hours earlier than I normally did to help out with extra work because my mother was diagnosed with CPOD and couldn't work around chemicals all the time without getting sick and not being able to breathe.
So I guessed to sum up why I don't work there anymore, is because I decided I wanted to do content creating full time.
Because I want to follow my dream of being a silly little goose on the internet
So thank you, to anyone and everyone who has even watched a second of my content, you guys don't understand how much it means to me and how truly grateful I am for all of you, and to the one and only "real" job I had.
It was fun while it lasted, but like I said earlier, not all good things last forever.

Let's dive into how you can get rid of those pesky stickers without a trace, especially from delicate furniture! First things first, patience is key! Rushing the process is a recipe for disaster, leading to scratches or residue. Always start by testing any method on an inconspicuous area of your furniture, especially if it's a cherished piece or has a unique finish. This little step can save you a lot of heartache! Safely Removing Stickers from Wooden Furniture (Painted or Unpainted): Wooden surfaces can be tricky because you want to preserve that beautiful finish. My go-to method often involves a little heat. Gentle Heat: Grab a hairdryer and set it to a low or medium heat. Hold it a few inches away from the sticker, warming it up for about 30-60 seconds. The heat helps soften the adhesive. Careful Scraping: Once warm, gently try to peel the sticker from an edge. If it's still stubborn, use something soft like an old credit card, a plastic spatula, or even your fingernail to scrape it off. Avoid metal scrapers at all costs! Tackling Residue: If there's sticky residue left, don't fret! I've had great success with oil-based products. A dab of olive oil, peanut butter, or even mayonnaise can work wonders. Apply a thin layer, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then gently rub it off with a soft cloth. Follow up with a clean, damp cloth to remove any oily residue, then dry. For painted wood, be extra cautious with oils and test first. Removing Stickers from Delicate Painted Furniture: This requires extra care to avoid chipping or lifting the paint. Rubbing Alcohol (Test First!): For tougher residue, a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball can work wonders, but you must test it in an hidden spot first. Dab it onto the residue, let it sit for a moment, then gently wipe. Plastic Scraper: A plastic scraper is your best friend here. Never use anything metallic. Tackling Stickers on Glass & Hard Plastic Surfaces: These are generally more forgiving, but caution is still needed. Warm Soapy Water: For fresh stickers, sometimes plain warm, soapy water and a sponge are all you need. Rubbing Alcohol/Nail Polish Remover: For really tough stickers or residue on glass, rubbing alcohol or even non-acetone nail polish remover can do the trick. Always test! No matter the surface, remember to clean the area thoroughly after removing the sticker and residue. A gentle furniture polish or cleaner can help restore the shine and protect the surface.
