Human relationships are difficult even if they are too close or too far away.

「ドライな人＝冷たい人」と思われがちですが、私はむしろ“感情に飲まれにくい人”という印象です。じゃあ、ドライな人の育ちはどんな感じ？と考えたとき、必ずしも家庭が厳しいとか愛情がないとか、単純な話ではないな…と感じました。身近にいる“程よくドライな人”を思い出すと、共通していたのは「自分の境界線（ここから先は踏み込まない）」を小さい頃からなんとなく学んでいることでした。 たとえば、親が過干渉すぎず子どもの選択を尊重していた家庭だと、「相手にも相手の都合がある」「全部は背負わない」という感覚が育ちやすい気がします。逆に、家の中で誰かの機嫌に振り回されやすかった環境だと、早めに“波風を立てない距離の取り方”を覚えて、結果的にドライに見えることもあります。つまり育ちというより、環境の中で身につけた“自分を守るスキル”がドライさとして表に出ることがあるんですよね。 私自身は、相手に合わせすぎて疲れるタイプでした。だからこそ意識したのが、画像にもあったような考え方です。 ・言葉の表面でいちいち反応しない（その場の感情に巻き込まれない） ・全部を引き受けようとしない（期待を背負いすぎない） ・年がら年中いい人を演じない（無理な笑顔をやめる） ・白黒をつけない（“グレーで保留”を許す） ・相手の機嫌を取るために我慢しない（ご機嫌取りをやめる） ・不満をいつまでも引きずらない（切り替えの練習） ・完璧に相手を分かろうとしない（分からない前提で尊重する） 「ドライさ」は相手を切り捨てることではなく、“近づきすぎない優しさ”だと思います。育ちの影響は確かにあるけれど、今からでも練習できるのが救いです。 もし「私は全然ドライになれない…」という人は、まず一つだけでOKなので、次の習慣を試してみてください。「返事を急がない」「頼まれても一旦持ち帰る」「今日は無理、と短く伝える」。この小さな距離感が、関係を壊すどころか、長く続けるための土台になることが多いです。
