Healing isn't linear, and sometimes acknowledging that pain is part of honoring the relationship. Practical steps such as creating a memory box or writing letters to that person can be therapeutic. Finally, surrounding yourself with supportive friends or family members can make coping less lonely. Sharing your feelings candidly allows for empathy and sometimes new perspectives that light the way forward.
