I built an app because I got tired of mentally managing my credit cards — and ended up saving thousands a year.
I used to think I was already pretty good at the credit card game.
I had a stack of Amex, Chase, and Citi cards.
Read points blogs constantly.
Knew all the “best card” discussions.
But the reality was:
I’d still freeze at checkout sometimes.
Which card should I use at Costco again?
What’s the rotating category this quarter?
Which card gives the best value on Uber Eats?
Did I activate that Amex Offer?
And that $695 annual fee card…
am I even getting my money’s worth back?
Then I realized the real problem:
It’s not that people don’t know how to optimize.
The system has just become too complicated for normal humans to keep track of.
And the craziest part is:
most of the losses aren’t from missing 1% or 2%.
It’s things like:
- forgetting to use a coupon
- airline credits expiring
- dining credits going unused
- not activating offers
- using the wrong card and missing 4x / 5x points
When you add everything up, it’s easily thousands of dollars a year.
So eventually I just built an app for myself.
It’s called MaxWorth.
What it does is pretty simple:
✔ Put all your credit cards in one place (without logging into your bank accounts)
✔ Tell you which card is best before you pay
✔ Automatically calculate cashback / points value
✔ Remind you before credits and benefits expire
✔ Track those premium cards that are slowly turning into coupon books
At the end of the day:
it’s not about getting more credit cards.
It’s about finally getting full value from the cards you’re already paying annual fees for.
Because modern credit cards are starting to feel like:
a game that requires its own management system.
Especially when:
- you have more than 3 cards
- you can’t remember bonus categories anymore
- you keep forgetting to use credits
- annual fees keep getting higher
- you know there are benefits, but don’t have the energy to research everything
That’s when you realize:
the biggest waste isn’t the annual fee itself.
It’s paying for benefits you never actually use.
So my goal became pretty simple:
make the credit card game less exhausting.
If you’re deep into the points world too, you can check out MaxWorth.
And if there’s anything you think could be better, I’d genuinely love the feedback.
