NDP 2026: Before You Go
What to Expect at the NDP 2026 Show (Based on Preview 2 Experience)
If you're attending the NDP show, expect large crowds. I arrived at the National Stadium around 5:00 PM, and there were already long queues stretching from Stadium MRT Station to the National Stadium. Due to crowd control, expect multiple waiting points, followed by a security bag check before entering. It took about an hour to get inside.
Seating is free seating, so arriving before the gates open at 4:30 PM is recommended if you want a better view. Each seat comes with an NDP gift bag containing light snacks and water. You'll also receive an LED wristband, which must be returned after the show.
Tips for a smoother experience:
- Arrive early for shorter queues and better seats.
- Bring only a small bag with essentials such as your valuables, a portable fan, or an umbrella.
- Empty your pockets before the security check to speed up the process.
- Water refill stations are available
- If you're taking the MRT, follow the colour-coded signs at Stadium MRT Station that match the sector printed on your ticket.
- Wear red or white to celebrate Singapore's National Day.
The show runs from 6:00 PM to around 8:15 PM. Try to use the restroom about 30 minutes before the show ends, as the queues become very long afterwards.
I was seated near Gate 21, which offered a good overall view of the performances, and one downside is that you won't be able to get a good view of the fireworks from this section.
