My friend and I decided to create a bet to motivate each other to study more, basically who acquires more study time on YPT (add in timing not included) per week. This bet would repeat on for the next 3 weeks and is accumulative so would you fight for 3 Chagee or 1 Book!!!

Currently I won last week’s bet by sacrificing my Sunday sleep (I rarely sleep at 12am yall) just for a measly 7 minutes more (helps my competitive streak…)

Mon

Really felt the weight for the grind of winning this bet, started quite strong with a 2h massive whack despite Monday blues. PE was damn hilarious as me and my other friend was trying to compete in taking aesthetic pictures of people running (so we would not need to run)

Quickly turned a 180 after pe teacher being so pmo when nitpicking my groups wellness plan, like what?? We waste our time??

Just because you never check the plan earlier does not give you the right to nag and arrow at us that we never plan down to every minute and second. Breh we planned 30 minutes since that is what you said in the earlier lessons. Pmo man then proceeds to monologue about how we are wasting such a lovely pe lesson (let me remind you that this pissy man always delay the end time of pe by 10 min by overstating the most unimportant stuff, so it becomes a free lashing out session for him)

Tue

Gonna flex that i got a 6 star Kiperina, after 40 ish pulls (under 2 weeks of effort), she only became meta after getting her to insight II. Oops sacrificed study time for that…

Oh yeah my thumb decided to flare up and BOOM dyshidrotic eczema. Bubbles started popping out from the tip of my thumb, that earlier this year when popped, bleeds like no tomorrow. So i tried to be more careful with my everyday actions, such as contact with water or rough surfaces

Wed

Became more worried as the bubbles are GROWING in size and number T^T

Why are dermatologists so difficult to book… I don’t think the tip of my thumb can last

Haha productive today with the bet friend, we slaying in the school library

Thu

Wow it is semi bleeding YAY(tears in my eyes) hope it heals fast now…

Haha another productive today with the bet friend, we yapping loads

Fri

Goodness, I have been blessed by the heavens

Pmo man is sick :D

Graced by a free study session in the morning and it was surprisingly productive?

Sat

Locked in on filling up internships (gotta, gotta, gotta work, gotta make that money —quoted from Ateez’s Work)

Personal opinion that internships are better to put in a resume / portfolio than having a part time job? At the expense of travelling overseas, but I don’t even know Singapore that well oh my

Sun

Doing chemistry and physics back to back is definitive a killer

Perhaps that’s the reason why I did not feel productive at all??

Ok eating fish soup was delectable but the post food coma fighting experience erm

Oh and of course delaying sleep schedule by being distracted by Reddit internship posts and Reverse 1999

... Read moreDuring this hectic week, balancing intense study sessions and personal challenges became quite the journey. The bet I had with my friend to out-study each other on YPT was a great motivator, pushing me to sacrifice sleep—even if it was just a few extra minutes—to gain a competitive edge. I discovered that setting small goals and having a weekly challenge can really enhance focus and productivity. However, not everything was smooth. My flare-up of dyshidrotic eczema on my thumb was particularly rough. The bubbles grew in size and number, causing discomfort and forcing me to be extra cautious with daily tasks involving water and rough surfaces. Dermatologist appointments proved challenging to schedule, which intensified my worry. This experience taught me the importance of health awareness and self-care amid a demanding schedule. To keep spirits high, my friends and I humorously competed even during PE lessons by snapping creative photos to avoid running. That humor and camaraderie made the grind more bearable. I also found relief in having unexpected free study sessions when my usual PE teacher was absent. On the entertainment side, I indulged in a bit of gaming, achieving a 6-star Kiperina after many pulls, even though it came at the expense of study time. Small rewards like these moments of fun helped balance the pressure. Lastly, I reflected on the value of internships over part-time jobs for building a resume, despite the travel and logistical challenges. Preparing for future opportunities while managing current stress was a tough but necessary balancing act. Overall, this week taught me the value of pushing through obstacles, the power of friendly competition for motivation, and the need to listen to my body even when deadlines loom. Sharing this journey feels like a reminder that persistence paired with self-care is key when tackling tough goals.
