New Britain Museum of American Art is one of the best small museums in Connecticut, and I’ve had the pleasure of visiting twice. It’s a gem that keeps things fresh, as the museum rotates its exhibits every six months.
One of my absolute favorite pieces is Blue and Beyond Blue by Dale Chihuly. The way the deep, vibrant blue glass seems to capture light and emotion is simply mesmerizing—there’s something almost otherworldly about it.
If you’re looking for a Saturday morning outing, here’s a treat: the museum offers free admission every Saturday from 10:00 AM to noon.
Just make sure you arrive before noon, and you can take all the time you need to soak in the art.
After 12:00, regular admission rates apply:
$20 for adults
$15 for seniors
$10 for ages 6-17 and college students
Free for kids 5 and under, as well as museum members.
