Okay, so if you're like me and adore the charm of 30A but also appreciate a good deal, you absolutely NEED to know about Carillon Beach, Florida! I recently stumbled upon this incredible spot in Panama City, FL, and it immediately earned a 5/5 in my book. It’s truly a private, gated slice of paradise that gives you all the luxurious "Seaside feel" without the hefty 30A price tag. The first thing that blew me away was the beach itself. Imagine a wide, sandy beach, almost exclusively yours, lined with inviting white lounge chairs and stunning beachfront houses. The mornings here are pure magic, with a soft pastel sky greeting you, and the evenings deliver vibrant sunsets over the ocean that you'll never forget. I loved strolling along the shore, finding little beach treasures like a delicate conch shell, a perfectly formed calico scallop, and even a sand dollar – perfect souvenirs! It's the kind of place where you can truly unwind, listen to the waves, and forget about the world. But Carillon Beach is so much more than just a beach. This gated community is meticulously designed, offering a fantastic array of amenities. My rental home featured a bright bedroom and all the comforts I needed, but the real fun is outside. There are pristine pools perfect for a refreshing dip, and even pickleball courts if you're looking for a friendly game (or a competitive one!). The scenic neighborhood views include calm lakes dotted with lily pads, and there are wonderful walking paths and bike rentals available, making it easy to explore every charming corner. When it comes to fueling up, Carillon Beach and its surroundings have you covered. My mornings often started with a delicious iced coffee from Panama City Coffee Co. – a must-try! For those sunny beach days, I highly recommend grabbing some frozen cocktails to-go; they offer refreshing options like Mimosa and Frozé. In the evenings, we ventured out to some fantastic spots. Shades Bar & Grill, for instance, served up a pan-seared redfish with goat cheese grit cake, haricot verts, and cherry tomatoes that was absolutely divine. And here’s the best part: you’re still a quick drive to all the iconic 30A hotspots! We spent a day exploring Seaside, soaking in its unique atmosphere, checking out the food, drink, and shopping essentials around the famous Seaside Post Office. Another highlight was a "Girl's Brunch" at Pescado in Rosemary Beach, FL, where we toasted with mimosas overlooking the beautiful Gulf. This proximity means you get the best of both worlds – the tranquility of your private retreat and the vibrant energy of 30A just minutes away. Carillon Beach truly is a hidden treasure, offering an unparalleled vacation experience. It’s perfect for families, couples, or anyone seeking a peaceful yet convenient getaway with a touch of luxury.
