Day 4 of PTO Blue Hair

Taking some much-needed PTO felt like the perfect opportunity to dive into a fun, bold project, and for me, that meant a complete hair transformation! I’ve been eyeing vibrant blue hair for a while, and finally decided to take the plunge with Lunar Tides Cyan Sky. Let me tell you, it was an adventure, but absolutely worth it! Getting ready for such a dramatic color change required a bit of prep. My hair needed to be light enough for the color to truly pop, so a careful bleaching session was in order first. Always, always do a patch test and a strand test before applying the dye all over – trust me, it saves a lot of potential heartache! I gathered all my supplies: gloves, old towels, a mixing bowl, and a tint brush. The anticipation was real as I mixed the beautiful Lunar Tides Cyan Sky into a vibrant, almost electric blue. Applying the dye was a hands-on process. I sectioned my hair carefully to ensure every strand was saturated with the gorgeous blue pigment. It felt amazing to transform my hair with my own hands. Seeing my wet, freshly dyed blue hair emerge after rinsing was a moment of pure joy and excitement. The color is incredibly rich and exactly what I hoped for, a true vibrant blue that catches the light beautifully. It's truly a statement color, and I'm loving the confidence it gives me! Maintaining vibrant blue hair like this requires a bit of dedication, but it’s totally manageable. I've switched to sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners specifically designed for color-treated hair. Washing my hair in cool water helps lock in the color longer, and I try to limit how often I wash it. Deep conditioning treatments are also my best friend, keeping my hair healthy and the color glossy. Plus, I’ve found that a good dry shampoo can extend the time between washes, which is a lifesaver for preserving that stunning Cyan Sky shade. Beyond just the hair, my PTO was also a chance to tackle some other satisfying projects. While my hair was processing, I finally got around to organizing my overflowing bookshelves. It's funny how a fresh, vibrant look can inspire you to refresh other areas of your life too. Seeing everything neat and tidy, with space to grow, felt just as rewarding as my new hair color.
