Wildflower picking in PA!

It's true, sometimes living in Pennsylvania can have its challenges, but my absolute favorite thing about summer here is definitely the explosion of PA Wildflowers! There’s just something magical about stumbling upon a field bursting with color. It totally makes those long days worth it. I’ve found some truly breathtaking wildflower fields tucked away on hiking trails. Places like Ricketts Glen State Park, beyond its waterfalls, have hidden meadows that just come alive in summer. Another favorite is any sunny roadside verge – sometimes the most unexpected spots offer the most vibrant wildflower bloom! It’s all about keeping your eyes open when you’re driving through the countryside. Timing is key too; late spring through mid-summer usually offers the most spectacular displays. Now, when it comes to flower picking or if you want to pick wild flowers, I've learned a few things over the years. It's super important to be responsible! I always make sure I'm not on private property without permission, and I never pick more than a small handful. The goal is to leave plenty for others to enjoy and for the flowers to reseed.
