here are the 3 things you MUST be doing to lose weight, and by putting them all together, you will be unstoppable! 😊
1. low impact exercise
this does not spike cortisol, will aid heavily in fat loss, won’t exhaust you & is so so much easier to stay consistent with! find an enjoyable way to move your body & stay very consistent with it! my favorite is walking, as it is AMAZING for fat burn & does not increase my appetitie.
2. water water water
a lot of people struggle to lose weight simply because of lack of water! definitely drink at least 64 ounces daily, and aim for 3 liters if possible. it helps with every aspect of health & weightloss and i can not stress it enough!
3. up your protein baby!!
THIS>>> changed my entire weightloss journey. i felt fuller, more satisfied & did not crave foods late at night anymore. it is so important to fuel your muscles to avoid the “skinny fat” look & to feel energized! 20+ grams of protein with breakfast, and a lot of people recommend 1-1.5g per pound you weigh! (although its hard to hit such high numbers sometimes)
... Read moreWhen I first started my weight loss journey, hitting '30 minutes of cardio daily' sounded like another impossible task. I imagined grueling, sweat-drenched sessions that would leave me exhausted and starving. But then, I stumbled upon the incredible power of low-impact cardio, and it wasn't just a game-changer for my body, but for my mindset too!
The truth is, those intense, high-impact workouts can sometimes spike your cortisol levels, which can actually hinder fat loss and leave you feeling burnt out. That's where consistent low-impact exercise shines. Walking, for instance, became my absolute go-to. It’s gentle on the joints, incredibly effective for fat burn, and doesn't leave me with an insatiable appetite afterward. Imagine strolling through a beautiful grassy field, just like in that image – it barely feels like a workout, yet you're steadily working towards your goals.
So, how do you actually fit in those 30 minutes of cardio daily without feeling overwhelmed? It’s simpler than you think! I started by breaking it up. A brisk 15-minute walk in the morning, perhaps during my coffee break, and another 15 minutes in the evening after dinner. Sometimes, I’ll put on my comfy pink sneakers and explore a new neighborhood. On days when I can't get outside, I’ll walk on a treadmill, or even just put on some music and dance around my living room. The key is to find movement you enjoy. It shouldn't feel like a punishment; it should be a moment you look forward to, a time to clear your head or listen to a favorite podcast.
Beyond walking, there are other fantastic low-impact options. Cycling, swimming, or using an elliptical machine are all great ways to elevate your heart rate without putting undue stress on your body. These options help you stay consistent, which is truly the secret sauce to long-term success. I've found that consistency with my '30 minutes of cardio daily' routine has not only accelerated my fat loss but also boosted my energy levels throughout the day and significantly improved my mood. It's amazing how much a little movement can do!
And remember, this low-impact cardio is just one part of my personal 'triple threat' for weight loss. It works synergistically with staying super hydrated – my trusty pink water bottle is always by my side, reminding me to hit that 64oz minimum! – and, of course, prioritizing protein. Getting those 20+ grams of protein in with breakfast, just like I aim for, keeps me feeling full and satisfied, curbing those late-night cravings. It's the combination of these habits that truly transforms your journey. So, if you're looking to make sustainable progress, embrace the power of low-impact cardio, make it a daily habit, and watch how your body and mind respond!
